Top 5 Certifications for Entry Level Remote Jobs in 2026
Top 5 Google Certifications to Help You Land a Remote Job in 2026
Here’s what nobody talks about with entry level remote IT jobs. Everybody wants them, but most people apply with the same basic resume, generic skills, and the same hope-and-prayer approach. But what if you had certificates and certifications that could actually make employers notice you?
I'm about to show you some certifications that might help you land a remote job. Real people use these programs to pursue remote opportunities. We're talking about success stories, salary figures, and step-by-step breakdowns of how people used these programs.
So, if you appreciate me making this type of information article, let me know by posting a comment.
Important Disclaimer About Remote Job Salaries and Certifications
Now, a quick disclaimer before we jump in. The salary figures mentioned in this article are estimates based on sources such as Glassdoor. These are average estimates, not guarantees, and your actual salary can vary depending on your experience, location, the company you work for, and many other factors. Use these numbers as a general guide, not a promise of what you'll earn. Salary figures may also vary between countries.
Additionally, if you take these certificates and certifications and do absolutely nothing with them, there is no guarantee that you’re going to get a job. These help, but they don’t do the whole job for you. It’s much like having a bicycle or a car to get somewhere: you still have to pedal the bicycle or drive the car. They’re tools that can help you accomplish your goal, but they’re not going to do it on their own.
1. Google Digital Garage Certifications
Certification number one is Google Digital Garage certifications.
Digital marketing is one of the easiest fields to start in, and many remote digital marketing jobs entry level roles accept beginners who have a solid certificate and a few basic skills.
One thing I want to mention is that certificates and certifications are different. I may use these terms incorrectly. I understand that certifications are different from certificates, but some certificates can be more valuable than some certifications, and vice versa.
With that being said, this covers marketing and data.
Why Can Digital Marketing Certifications Help You Get a Remote Job?
Digital marketing, analytics, and SEO can often be done fully remotely, and these skills are used by startups, e-commerce businesses, marketing agencies, and other companies. Basically, every industry needs digital marketers.

Of course, this is for an entry-level job.

2. Google IT Certifications Online Courses
The next is an absolutely legendary one, and that is the Google IT Support Professional Certificate.
This was one of the very first Google professional certificates. Google teamed up with Coursera to create professional certificates that focused on skills companies needed but that traditional college and other education methods were not always supplying.
The idea was essentially: these are the skills we, as a company, actually need, so please learn them.
It was probably a good idea to learn these skills because they were in demand, and Google created courses to help people develop them.
Why Is the Google IT Support Certificate Valuable?
The Google IT Support Professional Certificate remains valuable for developing practical IT skills. Some learners have also shared positive career experiences after completing the program. For example, one Reddit user reported receiving a job offer with an annual salary of $55,000 after three interviews. However, individual results vary depending on experience, skills, location, and job opportunities.

Overall, I'm going to rate this certificate a 9.5 out of 10. This is my personal rating.
3. Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate
The Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate is a great option for developing in-demand skills. Data analytics is valuable across industries, including healthcare, finance, business, and technology.
Just as an example, there’s a role called nurse informaticist. There’s also a pharmacy informaticist. Both are basically data analytics applied to nursing or pharmacy.
Data analytics is becoming very specific. Even if you're working in a completely different industry, learning data analytics skills can sometimes help you get jobs in your industry. You can apply your existing information and knowledge in such a way that you provide a lot of value and potentially get paid more.
This is another really good option. I've talked a lot about this one. It gets a 9.5 out of 10, and it's one of my absolute favorite certificates. This is my personal rating.

4. Google Project Management Certificate
Then you’ve got the Google Project Management Certificate.
Project management is another one of those skills that’s evergreen and super valuable. It was valuable a thousand years ago, and it’ll be valuable a thousand years into the future.
Just imagine: you needed project management skills when people were building the pyramids thousands of years ago. You’re going to need project management skills thousands of years into the future when we’re mining diamonds from some random planet.
It’s a super valuable skill set that’s never going to go away, and it can help you move toward remote program manager jobs down the line.
Why Are Project Management Skills Useful for Remote Jobs?
These certificates are self-paced, which is great. You can complete them according to the program's requirements and your own schedule. You can also add project management skills to just about any other skill set and use them in almost any industry.
That's why I'm recommending these certificates specifically. You'll notice I recommended digital marketing, IT, data analytics, and project management because they pair well with many different careers, industries, and types of companies.
I really like this one. I'm going to give the Google Project Management Certificate a 9 out of 10. This is my personal rating.

5. Google UX Design Certificate
You might be thinking, “I’m not a technical person. I’m not really into marketing and sales. I don’t want to do any of that. I’m a very artistic person. What should I do?
Well, the Google UX Design Certificate is another really good option, and this one is much better for people with artistic interests.
Is the Google UX Design Certificate Worth It?
Out of the five certificates I've talked about, this one is going to be the hardest for getting a job, by far. Portfolio creation is absolutely essential when it comes to UX design. You have to have a strong portfolio.
However, some people have reported getting job offers for their first UX design jobs after completing the Google course. One person said they had a bachelor's degree in biology but no other UX experience apart from the Google course. They went from zero to a job offer in six months. This is an individual experience, not a guarantee of similar results.
UX design roles can pay over $100,000 a year in some markets, and they're actually well paid. However, salary depends on the country, experience, employer, and level of responsibility.
Overall, I'm going to give this certificate a slightly lower score. Let's give it an 8 out of 10. It's really good for UX design. This is my personal rating.
