How to Start a YouTube Automation Channel in 2026: Complete Guide
How to Start a YouTube Automation Channel in 2026
Have you seen these channels with millions of views and no face or person behind them? I mean, obviously there is a person behind the scenes nobody knows about, but they're called faceless channels or YouTube automation. Although automation with a grain of salt, it's a lot of work. People lie to you and say it's not. I promise I'm not going to do that, but I will explain how to start and do this in 2026 based on actual data, doing this myself, and helping others for free.
What Is YouTube Automation?
There are five parts to a YouTube channel. You need a topic, like what video you're going to make. You'll need a script, a voiceover, some footage, something for people to watch, and packaging like thumbnails and your title.
All that together turns into a YouTube video, which can be totally faceless.
But, here's where things usually go sideways. People think, "Oh, it's easy. Automation, that's great." They try using AI or just hiring somebody, and it always totally flops.
And here's why.
Think of a factory, a regular business that makes Hershey's chocolate bars. Now, imagine this. You're Hershey's, right? And you've never made a chocolate bar before. And one day you say, "Let's build a perfect automated factory and make chocolate." Good luck.
You've never even made chocolate in the first place. You have no clue what you're doing. You got to figure out the ingredients, find a recipe, make some chocolate by hand, try it out, slowly starting to automate some of the production, etc.
Once you have everything up and running. You don't just set up a chocolate factory day one when you've never made chocolate and you don't know how to make it in the first place, right?
Same goes for YouTube.
People fail YouTube automation because they go for total automation on day one, which is total insanity.
Here's what you do instead, and why I don't even like to call it automation.
YouTube Automation with Faceless Channels
Here's how to start faceless YouTube channels.
You need four different things.
Number one is you got to pick a niche. Now, how do you find a good niche, a very profitable niche, a viral niche?
The secret is research, research, and more research.
Now, I give my clients access to all my years of research and my experience, aka my brain, which helps and you can learn more down below.
But, whatever you do, research faceless channels, spend a lot of time on it, and I recommend creating a new YouTube account where you only research and watch faceless channels.
I do this myself to get a fresh algorithm and new recommendations and more faceless content in your feed because if you watch a lot of faceless content, YouTube will show you more faceless content so you can research and get ideas much much faster.
How to Start a YouTube Automation Channel with AI
Create a Production System
Step two is going to be to create a production system.
Now, let's be extremely logical here. To produce a video, you need five different things.
A topic and this I recommend coming up with on your own as it's the most important part of the video.
An about topic will never get views even if you make the best video ever. People have to be interested in the first place, right?
Create the Script
Number two is going to be a script.
Now, this you can research and write with the help of AI. It's really not that complicated these days.
And obviously, the right way AI slop is not going to work and that's a very bad idea. I do see it all the time.
Create the Voiceover
Number three is going to be a voiceover.
Now, you can do it yourself with AI or hire somebody to do it. It's still affordable, pretty easy to get and really not a problem at all.
Find the Footage
Number four is going to be footage.
Now, the actual video itself. And here I do recommend hiring somebody depending on your budget, but for many niches, it's not going to break the budget and you can also in some niches, you don't even need editing which is, you know, makes it a little bit easier.
Create Thumbnails and Titles
And finally, thumbnails, titles, and the overall packaging of your video.
Now, you can use AI and a lot of tools out there to create these things and again, you need to know what you're doing, but it's not that difficult.
Just be educated, get feedback on these things because I see so many thumbnails people think are good. They might even look, you know, really nice, but nobody wants to click because they don't understand the underlying psychology and that's all that really matters.
Simple thumbnails that do understand the psychology tend to win.
And making thumbnails is honestly easy for most channels and it should be.
Create a Packaging System
So, step three is going to be to create a packaging system.
Now, every video comes in packaging. It was just going to be your thumbnail, your title. I mean, that's what attracts people to click.
And luckily, there's a science behind it. They actually know what they're doing.
YouTube is not random.
They pick good video topics. They have a production system, and they know how to package their videos.
Today, AI can help you a lot with these things. It can help you figure out lots of title variations, not just based on ChatGPT, but based on actual research and what's currently performing in your niche on YouTube by searching and going over these things.
And there are plenty of tools out there which we use to get inspiration and make our packaging very strong.
If you randomly create like a thumbnail or a title because it looks good, that's not going to work on YouTube in 2026.
So, learn the tube science, as I like to call it, and use the tools available to you, or your competition will.
Create a Monetization Plan
Now, step four, I think that's four again, is going to be create a monetization plan.
Now, we're not creating videos for shits and your fun. I mean, yeah, it can be fun, but we're here to make a profit, right?
And so, you should have a monetization plan before you even start your channel.
I'm not talking about getting views. I'm talking about a plan to get monetized on YouTube as quickly as possible.
But also, consider how you can start earning on day one through affiliates and other means of monetization externally away from YouTube's own system.
I can see when a niche and a channel is very monetizable by just looking at it nowadays, and those are kind of the channels that you want to start.
It's not It's just really It's not all about views.
There are smaller channels doing very significant numbers behind the scenes, depending on the niche and their monetization plan.
If you think about this properly.
And that's also something I really want to emphasize that scares a lot of people off from starting YouTube, thinking I need millions of views to turn it into a full-time thing, which is so far from the truth.
Yes, you can do really well if you get those view counts, but if you are in a profitable niche and you have a solid monetization plan of, you know, actually monetizing your content, we're talking thousands of views per month, not millions to, you know, be successful, I would say.
Which is a lot easier to get than millions of views every video.
When you have a good plan, you'll make so much more from your channel, which you can then reinvest into automation and less work for you, or you can start more channels, or you can just splurge on a Rolex if that's what you're into. I don't judge.
YouTube Automation Channel Ideas
There are many different directions you can take with a faceless YouTube channel. The important thing is to research the niche carefully, understand the audience, study existing channels, and build a production process that you can actually manage.
The goal should not simply be to find a topic that gets views. You also need to consider whether the niche has realistic monetization opportunities and whether you can consistently produce useful, original videos for that audience.
How to Build a YouTube Automation System
Step five. Now, how do you put everything together?
That's the hard part. I'll be I'll be honest.
It took me many years to figure these things out.
So, my recommendation is to get help, whether from me, very biased, or somebody else.
Just get help to get it right the first time and just save yourself a lot of trouble.
If you want to become a pro boxer really quickly, would you start training with an elite boxing trainer, or would you do like shadow boxing in your bedroom?
Guess who's going to win the fight.
Start Your Faceless YouTube Channel Early
And the big tip for 2026 is to start early.
AI is here and it's really helpful, but it's also moving really quickly and we know what works today, but I and you, nobody knows what's going to work in 3 years.
So, build assets with AI before everything else, and YouTube is a very good asset that you can build.
In this video, I covered the best faceless niches to start YouTube today.
